Superintendant James E. Hicks
Supt. James Edward Hicks was born in South Bend, Indiana. There he attended Harrison Elementary and Washington High School. Being a sports enthusiast, Supt. Hicks, played basketball, baseball, football and ran track during his high school years. He also attended Bellevue Community College in Washington State.
In August of 1958, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served a term of nine years, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. In 1961, while stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington, he met the lovely Ms. Helen Burrage, whom he married in 1963. This marriage has been blessed with four children, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild many of which are actively involved at Unity helping with the needs of the members and the community.
Supt. James Hicks was called into the ministry in 1978 and now serving as Pastor of the Unity Church of God in Christ, which he founded in 1980 under the direction of the Holy Ghost. The church began with five family members, and over the years God has continue to add to the church. As a result of his love of people, the work of the Lord and the anointing of God, souls are saved, drug addicts are delivered and sicknesses are healed.
Supt. Hicks received a Doctorate of Divinity degree in June of 1992 and continues to lead his congregation with passion and vision, striving to lead his members and others in the community and throughout the country to a better, more productive life with God.

First Administrative Assistant to the presiding Bishop of Washington State
Chairman, National Finance Committee
Member of the National Executive Committee
